Tigh na Gow - Shieldaig
Tigh na Gow is a traditional fisherman's cottage situated on the waterfront in the pretty village of Shieldaig. It has wonderful views down Loch Torridon and across to Shieldaig Island, home to our resident pair of white-tailed eagles. The surrounding area is full of magnificent mountains, far-reaching views and a warm Highland welcome. The view from the house, early morning: The view from the house, late evening:
The house offers a spacious twin room (single occupancy welcome) and a private residents' sitting room, both of which enjoy magnificent views down the loch and over the island. Towels and linen are provided plus a delicious home-cooked breakfast. The sitting room has a wide range of books & maps to help you plan your visit and the house also comes with free Wi-Fi. Mobile phone reception is not great in the village but you can usually get a signal across the road where you can sit on the sea wall and admire the view while you catch up with the outside world. If you're lucky you might even spot an otter while you're at it. Breakfast is served in the sitting room and there are a number of local bars/restaurants where you can get supper. Please ask if you would like any advice on where to eat. |
