Luxury Holiday Let ~ Shieldaig
Minch View House
www.ShieldaigHolidayLet.co.uk
Reputedly the oldest house in the village (which is probably why it has the best position with the most stunning views!), Minch View has been thoroughly renovated during a programme that started in August 2008 and was finished in June 2010. The house has been completely re-furnished, with emphasis on real comfort and easy living. The bathroom is an attractive modern design and the fabulous kitchen has all mod cons, including a dishwasher (well, you are on holiday...).
|
The sitting room has large comfy sofas and chunky reclaimed wooden furniture. There is a feature multi-fuel stove for these colder evenings. For the less externally motivated there is a LCD television with a full SKY package included. |
The dining room can accommodate six people at the oak dining table. There is a multi-fuel stove that provides additional ambience during cooler spells. The PC workstation, complete with full Wireless Broadband is also in the dining room. |
Upstairs there are two spacious double bedrooms that can be converted to twins by separating the Zip-Link Super King-size beds to create two large singles. There is an additional small bedroom that ideally would accommodate a child; however the bed is a full size single that will sleep an adult comfortably. |
The common factor shared by all five rooms is the spectacular outlook across Loch Shieldaig and Outer Loch Torridon to the Minch and the Outer Hebrides beyond. Summer sunsets across the Minch are truly stunning. |
Outside there is an extensive garden to the rear, mainly to grass bordered by fruit trees but including a gravelled patio area and a herb garden. External access from the garden to the front of the house is by a path on either side. Both have gates to prevent children ‘escaping '. |
The garden is furnished with a large table, chairs and parasol, and of course a barbecue. |
The back-drop to Shieldaig is the Torridon mountains which provide an imposing contrast to the marine perspective. The sheer scale of this wild mountainscape is absolutely breathtaking in summer, and equally when blanketed in winter snow. Typically, Minch View appeals to walkers, mountaineers, bird-watchers, cyclists, sailors, anglers (sea, river and loch), and anyone wishing to discover one of the most beautiful and friendly places on earth. |
